What Can My Donations Do?

Health & Wellness

In 2020 our donors collectively spent $7,500 USD and were able to change the lives of those in Toch Village, Cambodia once again by building a small clinic/pharmacy in the heart of the village. A little bit truly does go a long way!

Education & Recreation

In 2019 our donors collectively spent $3,000 USD in Toch Village, Cambodia to host an opening night dinner for 300 people in the community alongside a weekend soccer tournament where we were able to bring a story of hope to the participants and attendees through speaking out against drug and alcohol abuse. The impact of this project was so incredible that we’ve helped put on this tournament annually ever since.

Economic Improvement

In 2021 we picked up another project located in Paraolon Village, India where we are planning to help cultivate the land in order to help provide a source of income through crop and chicken harvest and selling at the local market. A project like this provides financial stability for many families who don’t currently have a way to make ends meet.

Our Mission

Village Reach is an international nonprofit that seeks out ordinary people with big dreams who see a need in their community and not only provides the required resources but also champions the dreamer to lead the project into completion. We believe there are many individuals who have a passion to see improvement in their community if only they had the resources and encouragement to see it through. Village Reach takes pride in cultivating long-term relationships with its project leaders and villages around the world. We are the first to realize that it takes a village to accomplish a goal, but it always starts with one person willing to take on the challenge.

How We Do It

If there is one thing Katlyn and Chase have learned in their time traveling, it is that everywhere you go there will be people to meet and stories to hear if you’re just willing to listen. Over their combined 45 countries traveled, they both have heard countless stories from people who either have a need or helped solve a need. From this, they’ve gained a large repertoire of connections including people such as missionaries, teachers, nonprofit leaders, or simply locals with ideas and plans for their community.

  • First off, we receive inquiries from individuals or ideas from partners around the world and narrow down our search to ones that fit within our project guidelines. From these inquiries and discovered needs, we then plan a visit to the location and meet with the local dreamer/potential project leader to spend time developing a relationship with them and their families. We assess the environment, obstacles, and any issues that may arise in order to mitigate problems the best that we can. However, our main goal during this time is to simply listen to the community and hear their thoughts on what they desire, need, or don’t want changed. Our goal is never to complete a project based on what we believe a place needs, but rather to listen to the local people and cater to their desires rather than our own.

  • After this, we then begin using our project management system to plan budgets, timelines, crews, logistics, and all resources needed to get the initiative completed. This is the stage when you will be able to see the project status bar as well as the funding goal on our website and be able to set up a one time gift or a recurring gift that will go towards this project.

  • Lastly, we book our flights and kick-off the project. This is the most exciting stage of the process as this is when you will have the opportunity to join us for a trip to the project location or simply opt-in to receive frequent email updates on the project’s status. One of our core values is transparency, so you will be able to see what all donation dollars have been used for regarding each individual project.

  • Prayers and funding! This is the time we rally our supporters and ask for prayer along with monetary donations. We believe getting a project done is extremely difficult without those two things. As financial provision comes to fruition, we then start tackling one tier of the project at a time until it is finally completed.

  • Maintain lasting relationships. Even though the project itself may be completed, we believe the way to truly impact a community of people is to continue to show up for them by forming long-lasting relationships. We plan trips, communicate via facetime, and continue to support every village we’ve helped whether it be in Chicago, Illinois or Toch Village, Cambodia.
